We are proud to offer penultimate and final-year students the opportunity to network with a diverse range of industry leaders at our Talent Pathways event held in May.

We work with universities to help bridge the gap between graduation and entering the workforce.

Blake Oliver Legal Talent Pathways student networking event

Unique Networking Event

Traditional networking events usually have up to hundreds of students, with only 1-2 corporate representatives. As a result, students don’t get an opportunity to network properly and forge a genuine connection. They’re lucky if they get a 30 second conversation. Similarly, corporate representatives are introduced to hundreds of students and no one is given an opportunity to make a quality impression.

At our event, students are seated at a table with CEO’s, hiring managers, rising talents and other senior staff. Students get a chance to have proper conversations, ask questions about their career journey, talk about the type of work involved and make genuine connections.

Students are vetted before the event and seated at a table with a firm that suits their career aspirations.

Firm Feedback

What was your favourite part of the event…

“The panel was great. It was great to speak in further detail with the students on our table also. Many had not heard of our firm so it was great to ‘plant the seed.’”

“Getting to speak with a number of different students, and that there was essentially an allocated group to chat to.”

“Meeting the upcoming graduates and understanding what was/is important to them as they come out of education and into the workforce.”

“The panel discussion went particularly well and was positively received by students at our table. The chance for in-depth networking and discussions at the table was great. “

“Talking and educating the grads at our table about PI law. They did not know what it was when they first sat down, but I believe when they walked away they had a great understanding.”
